  4. Thank you for choosing to evaluate TextPad 1.21.
  5.  
  6. TextPad now supports word-wrapped editing.  In this mode, the Join Lines
  7. command has been enhanced to preserve paragraphs, marked by empty lines,
  8. and a new Split Lines command breaks long lines where they are wrapped.
  9. There is also a new command to insert page breaks.
  10.  
  11. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  12.  
  13.     TextPad is available in 16 and 32-bit editions.
  14.  
  15.     16-bit Edition:                       32-bit Edition:
  16.         o 386SX CPU with 4MB RAM              o 486SX CPU with 12MB RAM
  17.         o 1MB free disk space                 o 1MB free disk space
  18.         o Windows 3.1 in 386                  o Windows NT 3.1 or
  19.            enhanced mode                         Windows 3.1 with Win32s

  21. INSTALLATION:
  22.  
  23.     From a ZIP File:
  24.         1) Unzip into a new temporary directory, with PKUNZIP 2.04g.
  25.         2) Run SETUP.EXE using File Manager or Program Manager.
  26.         3) Follow the on-screen instructions, but install into a
  27.            different directory from that in step 1 above.
  28.         4) Delete the files unzipped in step 1 above.

  30.     From Floppy Disk:
  31.         1) From Program Manager, choose the Run command from the
  32.            File menu.
  33.         2) Type "A:\SETUP" to run the TextPad setup program.
  34.         3) Follow the on-screen instructions.
  35.  
  36.     You can install both editions into the same directory.
  37.     There is no need to modify your search path.
  38.  
  39.     To enable TextPad's DDE capabilities, you can use REGEDIT to merge
  40.     the corresponding TXTPAD16.REG or TXTPAD32.REG file (or double click
  41.     the file with File Manager), but you must edit it first to give the
  42.     correct path to the TextPad executable.  It assumes that your
  43.     installation directory is C:\TEXTPAD.  See the online help for more
  44.     information.

  46. DRAG AND DROP EDITING:
  47.  
  48.     OLE2 drag and drop editing is only available to registered users.
  49.     Local drag and drop editing is always available, but scrolling has
  50.     not been implemented.  This means that you can drop text in the
  51.     visible view, but you cannot scroll the view whilst dragging.

  53. REGISTRATION:
  54.  
  55.     If you make use of TextPad you must register it.  Registered users
  56.     will receive a copy of the latest releases of both the 16 and 32-bit
  57.     editions, along with the Win32s and OLE2 files necessary for running
  58.     in 32-bit mode on Windows 3.1.
